Is 2013 The New Beginning?

Well we have come to an exciting part of our evolution and there are many philosophies of what most people understand to be the end of the Mayan calendar believed to be the 21/12/12. What I believe is that the Mayans were not necessarily referring to the end of the world but to an end of times.

Astrologers are showing that at this time the planets are aligning and there will be a strong alignment on this date (21/12/12), however most are unsure what effects this alignment will have on planet earth. In fact NASA reports that nothing will in fact happen to Earth at this time.

Intuitively, I feel quite strong about this alignment of planets. Although it is bringing about environmental changes (which need to happen to restore balance), I feel this alignment is having a positive effect on the human psyche as it is causing a deeper alignment within us...the alignment of the mind (personality) and the heart (soul)- or the parts of us I call the Ego and the Essence. It makes sense to say that as we are a part of the cosmos, we are effected by the planets, so if the planets align, surely we align as well.

One of the most interesting phenomenons which have been occurring is the solar max, which is the increased activity taking place on the surface of the sun. The solar flares we have been experiencing more intensely over the last few years have created a heightened intensity on our magnetic field. However, this intensity has been helping us awaken. For many, the solar flares have been causing greater levels of anxiety and depression with statistics of mental illness increasing dramatically over the last five years (an estimated 350 million people are affected). However, on a positive note, these emotions have forced us into a space of self reflection- the perfect environment for the mind to challenge its current way of being and begin to transform.

The last five years have presented us with major climate and economic change with the occurrence of some major environmental disasters while at the same time we have been experiencing the GFC and a major change in our economy systems... Yet all, of this cannot be building to The End of the physical world as some paranoia is communicating... It is bringing us to our knees... it is bringing us back to simplicity... back to humility and back to basics. So yes, this time can be seen as an end....but it is the end of an era, not the world.

It is an end of living our lives ruled by an Ego mindset and signifies an evolution towards our higher (call it spiritual) self. The Ego mindset, which was created from our fear, has led to us creating a ridiculously stressful existence fueled by wanting and needing more. We have been focusing on pushing ourselves, proving ourselves and developing ourselves. And this transition signifies an awakening for many- an awakening to a deep knowing that we are spiritual beings having a human experience. Many people are awakening to the feelings and the connections to this spiritual self, and the more connections one feels to this spiritual self, the greater the ego needs diminish. This is because our soul has simple needs and the more we connect with these needs, the more we strengthen our soul.

Throughout this development and awareness we have changed! With more and more people learning meditation and reflection, our brains have changed and we are activating more parts of the frontal cortex and less of the reptilian brain. This means we are able to turn off our fight/flight/freeze mode more and more, and transform the nervous system to experience and connect to greater positive emotions which exist within us. We are opening and connecting more and more with our hearts- our true emotional centre. The heart centre has its own neurological pathways and the more we have been focusing on these pathways the more we have been strengthening them. And so...we have been preparing ourselves for this change. We are ready for this time to end and to embrace a new beginning which 2013 offers to us.

We leave behind fear and the need to prove ourselves. We leave behind not feeling worthy and embrace a strong sense of purpose and a sense of self. We leave behind self doubt and embrace self belief and we leave behind the negative ego behaviors...

Self pity and feeling sorry for ourselves or not good enough
Self sabotage and letting ourselves down by breaking our own integrity
Self sacrifice and comprising our own wants and needs in order to people please and put everyone else first

And in leaving all this behind we can move confidently into a new beginning and a new era. Instead of Ego this new era is called Truth. As we transition into our higher, more evolved self we embrace the true virtues of our soul...our essence... We embrace Truth and freedom. And embrace the journey towards our truth.

This alignment to our truth means we know our truth. We know who we are in our truth, know what we want and know how to give ourselves what we need and want in this space of truth. We know how to express our truth and leave situations or relationships which do not align us to our truth. We know how to relax, how to reflect and how to connect to our higher self and soul. This will be our new journey, our new beginning and our new level of growth. How far are you towards this alignment with truth?

This is the time to embrace all the tools we have been learning throughout our challenges and our struggle… It is time for us to action wisdom and action our knowledge and 2013 will be our playground to do this. These are the key tools I believe we must embrace to connect with and align ourselves with our soul....

Meditation
I am passionate about meditation as a tool to develop the connection to our higher self. Meditation triggers our relaxation response which is the opposite state of fear in the body. Once we relax, we gain clarity and a new awareness of what truthfully exists within us. Relaxation is the key to change right now.

Exercise
Intelligent exercise, which is  perfect for your body type will relieve stress, produce positive hormones and make us feel alive and energized. Because we have become mostly sedentary in our technical evolvement, the lack of movement is leading to weight gain, depression and illness. You do not need to push yourself  and over exert yourself, as that will only create more stress in your body, but the body was made to move and exercise in any form which energizes us will awaken the soul.

Eat well
Our inner wisdom knows what to eat, what is good for us and what we need to survive. When we eat clean food from nature our body knows exactly how to digest it and so we physically begin to feel well. Keys to eating well include natural whole foods higher in alkaline, eliminating process sugar, alcohol and processed foods.

Relax and reflect
Give your body time to truly rest. This does not necessarily mean crash in front of the TV, although a good movie can be a great source of therapy…this means sleep, “unplug” early in the night, get into nature and give yourself contemplation and reflection time.

Express yourself
Keeping quiet and not expressing yourself is now being linked to lowering immune function in the body and can cause anxiety and stress. Learn to express yourself calmly, confidently and compassionately.

Be creative
Find an activity which puts you into a state of flow. Something which brings you joy and challenges you…sing, dance, paint, write, listen to music…embrace and express your creativity and have FUN!

Trust
Let go of fear and trust yourself, trust your path, trust your inner guidance and embrace the power of now. Trust is the opposite side of the coin to fear…trust allows you to view the world through a positive, courageous and passionate lens. Trust allows you to embrace uncertainty with clarity and allows you to reach places reserved only for those with the courage to trust and believe in their abilities.

Have strong boundaries
Learn to say no and let go of people pleasing. Learn to be a bit selfish and look after your own needs so that you can be so much more and give so much more back to everyone in your life. When you are full you give openly heartedly and when you are depleted you develop resentment. By looking after your needs and having healthy boundaries you will begin to stay in a place of truth.

Embrace your feelings
Let your feelings be your guide, not your mind and intellect. Allow yourself to connect with and listen to your feelings as a guidance system guiding you towards your truth. The mind sees what it needs to see and is limited. Our feelings, however,  reflect our inner knowing so make 2013 a new beginning of a life led not by fear but by truth.

As this will be my last post for the year, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for reading my blog, my platform to express my truth, guidance and inspiration. I wish you and your family peace, love and happiness over this festive season and I wish you a powerful shift into a magical new beginning that 2013 will bring.
