When the Receiver is ready the Giver appears

I picked up a card this weekend that read, “When the receiver is ready the giver appears.”

I loved the message in it and it really got me thinking, especially in light of my blog a couple weeks ago where I wrote that the active masculine energy to love is in GIVING and the passive feminine energy to love is the receiving. We often focus on giving love, giving so much until we are depleted. How many times do we bring our focus to actually receiving love from others; how many times do we allow ourselves to simply receive without the guilt of giving back.

Receiving comes in various forms- compliments, gestures, gifts, affections, charity, help, advice, love, guidance- only to name a few. Sounds easy to receive from others but for many of us there is a block to receiving, there is discomfort and embarrassment. Isolation, loneliness, cynicism, and independence feel more comfortable then receiving.

What stops us from receiving love?  You know my answer….EGO! Ego = fear, hurt, pain, loss, grief, abandonment, guilt, shame, resentment- all the dark stuff J In a nut shell it comes down to how much we value ourselves and the level of our self worth- how much we feel worthy and deserving to receive. When we are attached to a past hurt or loss we remain stuck in the energy of the past and are unable to receive openly- all the baggage gets in the way.

What is so upsetting is that we may miss golden opportunities in front of us because we are unable to receive them-– we cannot even see the giver within the illusion of our reality. In fact giving is easier because it builds our sense of value and self worth- the more we give the more worthy we feel.

Yep, EGO does this- creates the illusion of despair because in the heart of the EGO lies our 3 core fears  (I’m not loved, I’m not good enough, I’m not worthy) which create a dark reality clouded with illusion (False, Evidence, Appearing, Real)



The Art of Receivng Abundance



So perhaps there is an Art to Receiving. And perhaps the art to receiving is the core definition of abundance because when we are focusing on receiving we allow ourselves to take in with gratitude the benefits of all we give. In fact if we block receiving we are not in gratitude at all and the flow of love cannot be complete. Abundance therefore lies in the receiving. Receiving with grace, humility, respect, honour, and gratitude. We receive because we value ourselves and know how deserving we are- we receive because we allow others to love us, allow others to enjoy us, allow others to give from their hearts and see our gratitude.

Let’s break the ties from the past- forgive, dissolve, accept and let go so that we can have true love in our lives- as we give we receive with gratitude and give back- the law of reciprocity!

After I integrated the meaning of the card over the weekend I woke this morning with a wonderful affirmation which I would love to share with you to help you re-program yourself to receive…

“I chose to receive success, love and happiness in my life. I am receiving with gratitude, grace and humility, the receiver is ready and so the giver can give.”
