Find your Inner Gaga

Those who caught the Grammys last week would have watched Lady Gaga launch her new single “BORN THIS WAY”. In true GAGA style she wowed us by coming out of an egg and performing her magic.

Yes of course her expertise in marketing allowed her set a world record by becoming the fastest ever single to sell on I-TUNES http://www.loopinsight.com/2011/02/18/lady-gaga-has-the-fastest-selling-single-ever-on-itunes/; her performance revealed so much more.

She spoke about the symbolism of the egg being a metaphor for re-birthing herself and I was truly inspired. It got me thinking of the opportunities we have in life to forever re-invent ourselves; opportunities to wipe the slate clean and begin again. You would have read about my own recent journey in one of my past posts, "Introducing the New Me, The Real Me"

As we go through the processes of reinvention we discover new levels of ourselves. And as we allow ourselves the freedom to dig deep and unfold these layers we find our essence. And within that essence, we come to the fact that within each of us lies a hidden GAGA-a star full of self expression, full of depth and full of truth.

Lady Gaga stands as a symbol of truth and an icon of personal freedom. She is so intriguing that USC Professor Mathieu Deflem’s has introduced a new class, “Lady Gaga and the Sociology of the Fame” which studies her remarkable journey.

Some may call it extreme eccentricity, others call it show business; some may be completely threatened and uncomfortable with her level of expression…  I see it as brilliance and inspiration.

Within each of us, lies a hidden GAGA-a hidden potential and creative expression dying to be discovered. For most of us our fear of approval and acceptance blocks us from expressing ourselves freely. Perhaps we do not need to go to the extreme of this super star but perhaps we can shed a few layers of judgment to find our truth.

What I love even more about her is the fact that right now, because of her level of truth she stands as a true leader and inspiration- she stands as an extreme contrast to what most of us are not doing. She therefore is not only a brilliant performer and entertainer but she becomes the intention of a beautiful underlying purpose- and if that purpose has the ability to awaken us now then she becomes far more powerful then she may even comprehend. She becomes an icon of leadership in our world today as true leadership today takes that level of boldness and courage to awaken society!

It’s no wonder she refers to Deepak Chopra as “the most influential person in my life.” Chopra’s first Spiritual law of success is the law of PURE POTENTIALITY- “it is the field of all possibilities and infinite creativity” (The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, Deepak Chopra). Our Pure Potentiality is our full potential and when we express ourselves openly and freely we express this full potential and therefore express our authentic selves.

And as we allow ourselves to discover our inner expression, our inner truth and our inner essence we help others discover theirs. As we embrace the courage to express our truth freely and openly we create others to express theirs. And in that space of personal expression and freedom we have the potential to become one of the greatest societies to exist in mankind.
