So Who Are You in Your Full Potential?

In one of my recent posts I spoke about being true to yourself. In this post I explore this further and offer you some additional steps to reach your true potential.
Most of us do not achieve our full potential because we have no idea who we are or what we can be in our full potential. We have glimpses and snap shots and feelings within, yet we cannot seem to break free from conditioned behavior which blocks us achieving and being our full potential. For many, the concept of “full potential” is completely unknown and unimaginable.
So, what does it mean to be your full potential?
Living in your full potential means living in alignment with your values, which means experiencing and feeling the exact emotions you wish to feel on a daily basis. When we are in alignment we are being true to ourselves. This isn’t always easy and means you are not being motivated by fear or Ego but being inspired and empowered every day. Hmmm…So what does that mean?
Notice if you experience any of these behaviors during your day…
People pleasing
Trying or needing to prove yourself
Striving for success to prove you can
Comparing yourself to others
Pushing yourself beyond your boundaries (no work life balance)
Crossing personal boundaries (saying yes when meaning no)
Feeling frustrated, unheard, insignificant and unworthy
Working for a pay check rather than purpose
Ignoring the inner voice of intuition telling you something is not right or suited for you
Guess this sounds like an ordinary day in the corporate world- Huh? Yet does it need to be so emotionally intense? The key here is to recognize that all those above behaviors stem from an Ego intention. When we strip away and peel away the layers motivating ego behavior we can see that at the core of all those behaviors is the need to prove you are good enough, worthy enough and accepted and loved- Our 3 core fears which lie within our Ego. Therefore if we are stuck in any of those behaviors we can see that our intention comes from fear. To be truly empowered and inspired and to live a life of leadership and happiness means we have to shift our intention from fear to freedom….from fear to being happy.
These behaviors become conditioned and the pay off we receive from these behaviors is greater than our need to change. For example we will continue to people please and self sacrifice our own needs if we are continually wanting that acceptance and recognition we get from them. The buzz of acceptance is so great it feeds the ego and feeds that behavior. The problem is we become addicted to this behavior and the response we get so we get stuck in a pattern which feels impossible to break- we get stuck needed others to validate us, approve of us, recognize us and we move further away from trusting ourselves and being real to ourselves.
The other problem with this is that we will only develop as far as this conditioned self allows us to, as the fear of doing something else and responding differently seems so great. And when we stay in this safety of what we know we remain stuck in our comfort zone. Our comfort zone aims to protect us from the possible rejection, abandonment, failure, loneliness, or shock we may experience when we change our behavior. And although we feel a level of comfort and safety in our comfort zone there is always a longing within and an emptiness nagging and guiding you to be stronger, bolder, wiser, more courageous and more inspired. This inner self is the light of your full potential or your inner potentiality crying out to grow.
When we start to challenge ourselves to step out of our comfort zone and change our behavior and listen to the inner voice then we start to move towards this potentiality and our true selves. And nothing is more empowering then listening and honouring that inner voice.
As John Demartini says,

“When the voice and the vision, on the inside, is more clear, more loud and more profound, than the opinions on the outside, then you have truly mastered your life.”

So who are you in your truth? What is your inner potentiality?

To help you get clarity, close your eyes and picture the best version of yourself with no fear, no limitation, no doubt and fully energized and filled with enthusiasm. Notice where you are, who is with you, what are you telling yourself and what emotions are you feeling.
Write out these emotions (these are your values)
As you see this self you may begin to feel emotions like:

Happy           Peaceful            Calm              Graceful       Compassion
Wisdom         Courage            Strength        Honesty         Content

After you list these, define each one and write out what each one means for you.
Now notice what keeps you from experiencing these emotions and list those habits, thoughts, beliefs or people.
Now list 3 NEW things you can do to be true to that value. The secret to answering that question successfully is in asking yourself what do I truly need and want in order to experience this emotion. Be true to yourself.
After you have written all that out you will now have a manifest and a plan for who you are and how to be your full potential.
There are now 2 keys which will help you stay true to this manifest and plan:
1.      Noticing your Intention – are you coming from Ego Fear or are you coming from your truth?
2.      Noticing your moment to moment choices- coaching yourself and guiding yourself to ensure every choice is towards what you want not towards your fear
This means having Self Awareness and the ability to observe and recognize your behavior and its intention. Once you have this awareness, then the next step is to take Personal Responsibility to tune into your inner voice rather than the outer influences. The next step is listening and Trusting your Inner Voice and then finally ACTING on the guidance of that inner voice and truth.
This may feel challenging at first as it is unfamiliar and against conditioned behavior but every time you challenge yourself you will grow and slowly slowly with each positive choice towards your values you will grow into your inner potentiality and actualize your true self and true potential.
So it is about doing something different, breaking with pattern and yielding a new result. Einstein put it best when he said, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result.” So listen to that inner voice and act on your inner guidance and watch the synchronicities and blessings follow.
